Overview
HOPE Community Services, Inc. is a leading outpatient treatment provider in south Oklahoma City. We provide compassionate trauma informed care to individuals whose lives have been impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. We do this by providing compassionate and evidence-based treatment, aimed at improving the quality of life for those we serve.
We are seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to join our Engagement team. This position plays a key role in helping individuals begin their recovery journey by offering peer support, connection, and advocacy during their initial entry into services.
Have you experienced your own recovery journey from mental illness or substance use? Are you passionate about empowering others, building connections, and removing barriers to care? If so, this position could be a meaningful next step in your career.
About the Position
As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist on the Engagement team, you will be the first point of contact for individuals starting services at HOPE. Drawing from your lived experience, you’ll provide support, guidance, and encouragement to help clients feel welcomed and connected. You’ll assist individuals in meeting immediate needs, engaging in care, and transitioning to the appropriate long-term services.
This position includes peer mentoring, resource navigation, benefits support, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure each person receives compassionate, recovery-focused care from the very beginning.
About the Program
The Engagement team functions within HOPE Community Services’ Access and Intake Program, offering early support and connection for individuals beginning behavioral health services. This team plays a vital role in ensuring new clients feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they initiate services. Engagement staff work with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or co-occurring challenges—many of whom have experienced trauma. Through compassionate, trauma-informed care, the program helps clients overcome barriers, access services, and take meaningful steps toward long-term recovery.
