Job Description - Peer Recovery Supporter/Driver

Description

The Integrated Workforce Peer Recovery Supporter will provide transportation services and assist, and guide individuals who have a substance use disorder or are re-integrating into the community from incarceration. The Peer Recovery Supporter will collaborate with Case Managers to provide support and assist with the engagement of consumers in activities and supportive services that will help the consumer overcome barriers and engage in a more fulfilling lifestyle. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Become knowledgeable of all services provided through Flying HIGH, Inc  which may support clients in need of assistance.
  • Navigate and work in computerized record system in order to register clients, accurately complete intake paperwork, Career Counseling forms, and assist case managers.
  • Observe case management meetings to learn processes, procedures and obtain knowledge of the potential needs for peer recovery support services.
  • Provide peer recovery support services to clients as needed
  • Provide transportation to enrolled individuals to worksites, to/from appointments, recovery meetings, court, BMV, WTYF sites and other identified external sources.
  • Assist client in the development of formal and informal community support that will increase social support networks.
  • Provide services in a culturally inclusive and competent manner which includes not practicing, condoning, facilitating, or collaborating in any form of discrimination.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and provide services inside my area of lived experience, training, competence and scope of practice.
  • Assist staff members at community events and outreach events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Maintain professional standards and observe the guidelines established within the PRS Code of Ethics.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent; Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Certification and a minimum of two years of recovery.

Valid Ohio driver's license

Drug free workplace with post offer testing

Civilian background check
