đź•’ Part-Time (20 hours per week) | Non-Exempt

Impact Life, in partnership with atTAcK addiction, is seeking a Part-Time Peer Support Specialist to support individuals navigating recovery at the Glasgow Resource Center in Newark, Delaware.

This role provides one-on-one peer support, facilitates recovery-focused activities, and helps connect participants to community resources. As someone with lived experience, you’ll build authentic relationships and support individuals in setting goals, strengthening wellness, and accessing services.

The Glasgow Resource Center is a collaborative space operated through Impact Life and atTAcK addiction, focused on creating a welcoming environment that promotes recovery, empowerment, and community connection.

Schedule & Hours

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) based at the Glasgow Resource Center.

Resource Center hours are:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Thursday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

The 20 weekly hours must be worked during these center hours. Ideally, hours will be scheduled across three days per week, though flexibility in choosing specific days is available.

Some local travel may be required.

What You’ll Do

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals seeking recovery or navigating early recovery
  • Assist participants with identifying goals and developing wellness plans
  • Connect individuals to community resources including treatment, housing, support groups, and harm reduction services
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led groups and activities at the Resource Center
  • Work closely with atTAcK addiction staff, Board members, and volunteers to support daily Resource Center activities.
  • Support outreach and engagement efforts
  • Maintain basic documentation of peer support interactions
  • Model recovery values including empathy, respect, accountability, and resilience
  • Participate in supervision and training
  • Represent the Resource Center at community events as needed

Who You Are

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS), or willingness to obtain certification when eligible
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Reliable and dependable

Preferred

  • Familiarity with harm reduction and recovery-oriented approaches
  • Knowledge of local resources in New Castle County
