WesleyLife is seeking a People & Culture Director to join our WesleyLife at Home team. This role focuses on driving a positive team culture and implementing top-notch HR practices. WesleyLife at Home is celebrating 20+ years of providing exceptional home health services throughout central Iowa. We provide integrated solutions to support the health and well-being of older adults wherever they call home. We bring the convenience of quality, compassionate care to the safety and comfort of client homes. Our departments include Home Health, Hospice, In-Home Services, Meals on Wheels, and Public Health.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Manage full-cycle recruitment at Hearthstone, including posting positions, screening, interviewing, coordinating leader interviews, and final selection.
Oversee dueâdiligence processes such as reference checks, background checks, and preâemployment steps.
Develop and Lead new-hire orientation program in alignment with organizational strategy.
Lead onboarding processes, present orientation materials, and support benefit enrollment for new hires.
Team Member Relations & Performance Management
Serve as a key consultant to leaders regarding performance management and team member relations.
Conduct internal investigations and guide leaders through appropriate action steps.
Manage team member complaints, grievances, disciplinary processes, and terminations.
Participate in unemployment hearings where appropriate.
Workers' Compensation & Safety
Act as the primary workers’ compensation contact for Hearthstone and The Cottages.
Ensure timely completion and submission of all required accident reports and documentation.
Coordinate light duty and return-to-work processes.
Lead accident investigations and collaborate with leaders to implement improvements.
People Metrics & Reporting
Track, analyze, and present people and culture metrics to both community leadership and Network Support Center leaders.
Partner with leadership to create action plans addressing areas of need.
Support organization-wide strategy alignment by recognizing trends and implementing solutions that support the WesleyLife vision.
Compliance
Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee workplace posters, OSHA reporting, logs, forms, FMLA processes, FLSA issues, and other compliance needs.
Maintain complete and auditâready personnel files.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent HR experience may be substituted for education.
Minimum of three years of human resources experience required.
Strong generalist background across team member relations, benefits administration, compliance, employment law, and business operations.
Experience in healthcare or hospitality strongly preferred.
