Department Details

This is a full time position that is focused on the training aspects of Sanford Ambulance. The position will help oversee, orientation, skills fair, recertifications and ongoing training. This position will work closely with Quality Assurance and Operations to make sure the department is meeting the training needs of our team.

Summary

Oversee efforts to assure the highest possible quality of patient/resident care through the regular ongoing analysis, review and evaluation of clinical outcomes, patient/resident experience scores; provide support through development of performance improvement (PI) plans.

Job Description

Responsible for advising management on all potential areas of risk and loss and for advising on decisions on how to best minimize or eliminate loss. Plan, organize, develop and coordinate additional associated and designated programs within the facility and/or setting in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern such functions. Identify, report, and assist in controlling these programs, implementations, changes, etc. throughout the facility.

Responsible for advising management on all potential areas of risk and loss and for advising administration on decisions on how to best minimize or eliminate loss. May also be involved in the claims management and incident reporting process based on the needs of the facility and department demands. Will analyze and synthesize data to maximize utilization of data in clinical decision-making, business and strategic initiative. Coordinates educational activities associated with orientation, ongoing training and accuracy if needed, based on findings. Will have working knowledge of regulations regarding data collection, submission and documentation. Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.

Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing advanced and efficient approaches to performing business related activities. Responsible to comply with all regulatory agency requirements with skills associated in quality and risk management, including a broad knowledge base of healthcare health services, infection control, safety, and health regulations and standards.

Qualifications

Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.



Currently licensed with the applicable State Nursing Board and/or possess multistate licensure privileges as required by position. Performance improvement/assurance personnel with nursing backgrounds can maintain their license without seeking additional hours based on role’s responsibilities.

If working in the Emergency Medical Services department, a Paramedic license will work in lieu of a nursing license. Must hold national registry status at a Paramedic level.

Depending on state requirements, individuals may need to have a state license. Additional licensures as required depending upon state; Paramedic (PAR) Certification, National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS)100, 200, 700, and 800 completed and continued education hour's as mandated by accreditation.
