Person In Charge (PIC)

The Person in Charge (PIC) supports store leadership by helping oversee daily store operations and providing direction to associates during assigned shifts. The PIC helps ensure excellent customer service, proper store conditions, completion of operational tasks, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Provide leadership and direction to store associates during assigned shifts.


• Assist with coordinating daily store activities and ensuring operational priorities are completed.


• Monitor overall store conditions, including sales floor presentation, cleanliness, stocking, and recovery.


• Help ensure departments are appropriately supported based on customer traffic and business needs.


• Communicate operational concerns and follow up on outstanding tasks with store leadership.


• Support opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.

• Provide clear direction and expectations to associates throughout the shift.


• Delegate tasks and follow up to ensure assignments are completed accurately and timely.


• Assist associates with questions, customer concerns, and operational issues.


• Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.


• Reinforce company policies, procedures, and customer service expectations.


• Provide coaching and feedback to associates when appropriate and escalate concerns to store leadership as needed.

• Lead by example in providing friendly, responsive, and professional customer service.


• Assist customers with questions, product locations, and service concerns.


• Help resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.


• Monitor front-end and sales floor conditions to help maintain an efficient customer experience.


• Respond to customer service needs throughout the store.

• Assist with maintaining properly stocked, faced, and organized sales areas.


• Ensure promotional displays, endcaps, and merchandising areas meet company standards.


• Monitor out-of-stocks and communicate replenishment needs.


• Support recovery and general store appearance throughout the shift.


• Assist departments as necessary to maintain appropriate store conditions.

• Help maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and associates.


• Follow and reinforce company safety, security, sanitation, and loss-prevention procedures.


• Identify and promptly communicate safety hazards or operational concerns.


• Support proper cash-handling and store security procedures when assigned.


• Assist with ensuring company policies and established operating procedures are followed.
