Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Full-Time, 40 hours/week)
Position Overview
The Personal Assistance Services (PAS) Provider will deliver on-site support to employees with targeted disabilities at EPA Region 5. The role focuses primarily on assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) in a professional office environment. When not actively engaged in PAS duties, the provider may be asked to perform light administrative support as needed.
This is a full-time position (1,752 billable hours annually) requiring reliability, professionalism, and adaptability.
· Escort employees into and out of the building, including assistance through security checkpoints.
· Provide support with entering/exiting elevators and navigating office spaces.
· Assist with coats, sweaters, or layered clothing as needed.
· Set up and organize work materials or bags at the employee’s workstation.
· Provide assistance with meals, including retrieving or preparing lunch and post-meal cleanup.
· Assist with restroom needs, including changing/emptying urinary bags and related hygiene support.
· Provide wheelchair assistance and mobility support throughout the day.
· Carry and transport employee belongings (e.g., backpacks, work materials).
· Perform light clerical/office tasks during downtime.
· Assist with document handling, organizing files, or preparing materials.
· Provide occasional support across multiple employees when requested.
· Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
· Arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled shift each day.
· Maintain professional grooming and business casual attire consistent with EPA workplace standards.
· Adhere to all federal facility security screening requirements.
· Participate in emergency drills, evacuations, and readiness exercises.
· Safeguard all government property and information, complying with confidentiality regulations (EPAAR 1552.235.70, 71, 79).
· Prior experience in Personal Assistance Services (PAS), nursing aide, caregiver, or related field required.
· Ability to perform activities of daily living (mobility, restroom, clothing, meals) with sensitivity and professionalism.
· Physical ability to assist with wheelchair operation, lifting light items, and escorting employees.
· Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work respectfully with individuals with disabilities.
· Flexible and adaptable to take on basic administrative tasks as directed.
· U.S. work authorization and ability to pass federal facility security screening.
· Previous experience supporting individuals with targeted disabilities.
· Basic clerical/office support experience (e.g., organizing, handling materials, simple document preparation).
· Familiarity with professional office environments.
