Personal Care Assistant/Home Health Aid

The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with Personal Touch Home Care to find qualified candidates for a Personal Care Assistant in Staten Island, NY. Personal Touch Home Care is a home health care agency that provides in-home medical and supportive services to individuals who need assistance due to illness, injury, disability, or aging. Care is delivered by trained professionals, including nurses, home health aides, and therapists, with the goal of helping clients remain safe and comfortable in their homes. Personal Care Assistants provide essential support to individuals in their homes by helping with daily activities and personal care needs. This role assists clients with maintaining their health, safety, comfort, and independence while following individualized care plans. Personal Care Assistants also provide companionship and support during daily routines, appointments, and recreational activities. Compassion, reliability, and respect for client dignity and privacy are important aspects of this position.

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
• Provide support with toileting and mobility needs
• Help prepare and serve meals
• Provide medication reminders as permitted by the care plan
• Perform light housekeeping and household chores
• Monitor and report changes in a client's condition to supervisors or nurses
• Follow individualized care plans to support client needs
• Provide companionship and accompany clients to appointments, community activities, games, or crafts

• Must have a recent physical completed within the last six months or be willing to obtain one as soon as possible to begin training
• Must be able to read, speak, and write in English
