Personal Counselor

Description

Father Ryan is seeking to hire a self-motivated and experienced candidate to join our Personal Counseling Team. This is a 10-month position (August-May) with some evening and weekend responsibilities throughout the school year. Ideal candidates should be skilled in providing social and emotional support to adolescents, be able to work independently, are reliable and have a solid working knowledge of the latest behavioral health interventions. Previous experience working in a school setting is an advantage. 

Interested candidates must hold a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field and are licensed in their field, license eligible or actively pursuing licensure.  

Requirements

The most qualified candidates should be able to: 

• Provide individual mental health counseling, de-escalation, crisis intervention, case management and referral services 
• Provide Risk Assessment and Screenings as appropriate 
• Communicate with parents/guardians to address concerns and support student development 
• Collaborate with outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care 
•  Maintain accurate records and timely documentation
• Work in partnership with school faculty and staff to support social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students 
• Co-facilitate family education groups  
• Assist with overseeing various Mental Health Initiatives and Programming 
• Conduct classroom and small group presentations as needed 
• Work directly with Director of Personal Counseling to identify and coordinate other duties to support student needs 
• Maintain professional standards and present as a role model for master’s level interns within the Personal Counseling Department
