Job Description - Personal Injury Claims Adjuster

Price Benowitz LLP is a rapidly growing mid-sized law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices throughout the region. Our personal injury team is dedicated to advocating for individuals harmed due to negligence. We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Claims Adjuster to bring valuable insurance industry insight to our firm’s case evaluation and negotiation efforts.

Position Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable Personal Injury Claims Adjuster with a minimum of 2–3 years of experience working at an insurance company—either as an adjuster or in a supervisory role. The successful candidate will support our case managers and attorneys in assessing liability, evaluating claims, preparing demand packages, and engaging in settlement strategy discussions. A strong background in bodily injury claims is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Review and assess personal injury case files, including medical records and damages documentation.
Analyze liability and coverage based on insurance standards and industry best practices.
Advise attorneys and case staff on demand strategy, case valuation, and negotiation positioning.
Assist with communication and negotiation efforts with insurance carriers and adjusters.
Identify documentation gaps, potential issues, and opportunities to strengthen claims.
Stay informed of trends in claims handling and carrier behavior to inform internal strategy.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience handling personal injury claims at an insurance company (adjuster or supervisor level).
Proficiency in bodily injury evaluation, liability assessment, and settlement negotiation.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with legal professionals.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with auto, premises liability, and other common PI claim types.
Familiarity with claims or case management systems is a plus.

Additional Information
Work Environment: This is an in-office hybrid position, and candidates must be available to work full-time hours at our Washington, DC office (4 days in-office, 1 day remote, Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm).
