The duties of this position involve making connections and building personal relationships with our members who are interested in achieving their fitness goals with a personal trainer. In this role, you will lead, guide, and educate individuals and groups in exercise activities to improve fitness and meet their individual goals in a Country Club environment. We are searching for a personal trainer with strong experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The individual must demonstrate and teach proper body mechanics, form & technique, monitor progress, and adapt/modify programs as needed. Instructor is also expected to ensure safety, provide general information on nutrition and lifestyle, and be able to offer first aid.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate and Instruct: Explain and show proper techniques for various exercises, routines, and equipment use.
· Monitor and Adapt: Observe participants, provide feedback, and adjust programs to meet individual needs and progress.
· Ensure Safety: Explain and enforce safety rules and provide first aid as needed.
· Provide Information: Offer guidance on nutrition, weight control, and other lifestyle aspects.
· Lead Classes: Develop and deliver group fitness classes, ensuring motivation and engagement.
· Maintain Records: Keep track of participant information and progress.
· Promote Participation: May be involved in promoting health club participation and active lifestyles.
· Maintain Equipment: Ensure equipment is organized, clean, and properly stored.
· Offer Assistance: Provide support and answer questions from members.
· Communicate Effectively: Clearly and concisely explain instructions, modifications, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
· Education: Personal Training Certification, Degree in Exercise Science, and/or Group Exercise Certification. First aid/CPR are required and can be provided in-house.
· Experience: Prior experience is necessary.
· Skills: Good communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills are essential.
· Physical Stamina: Running several classes a day requires good physical condition.
· Knowledge: Education in weight control, nutrition, and various exercise modalities are necessary.
