Job Overview:

This is a part-time, WAE position at the Petroleum Engineering Research, Training, and Testing (PERTT) Laboratory, a $20 million industrial-scale facility with full-scale equipment and instrumentation for conducting training and research related to borehole technology. The incumbent in this position will perform work that ensures safe, effective operation of the laboratory, which may occur directly or through delegation to staff engineer(s), technician(s), or administrative personnel; serve academic, industry, and government constituencies to accomplish project goals. Also, the incumbent will provide teaching and training for university education, as well as industry training activities, mainly through interaction with the Department faculty who conduct laboratory courses, short courses, trainings, or certifications. Assist with CCUS infrastructure and testing, as needed on a reoccurring basis.

Job Description:

-Perform work that ensures safe, effective operation of the laboratory, which may occur directly or through delegation to staff engineer(s), technician(s), or administrative personnel; serve academic, industry, and government constituencies to accomplish project goals.

-Provide teaching and training for university education, as well as industry training activities, mainly through interaction with the Department faculty who conduct laboratory courses, short courses, trainings, or certifications.

- Assist with CCUS infrastructure and testing, as needed on a reoccurring basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or other engineering disciplines, or other degree with extensive, relevant experience and 5 years of related experience. Specific experience in practical and/or research experience in the oil and gas industry; Familiarity with high-pressure equipment and instrumentation; ability to communicate and interact effectively with constituents, including faculty and industry representatives from operations, management, and research; effective management of personnel; experience with scheduling and budgets for laboratory or field operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, other engineering disciplines, or business/management related experience. Either PhD and 2 years experience or MS and 3 years of experience. Field or research experience in areas related to wellbore operations such as well control, multiphase flow, production, and downhole instrumentation.
