Job Description - Pet Resort Assistant Operations Manager : Full-Time Management Position

Ready to take the next step in your career?

Maybe you're already the person your manager relies on.

You're the one training new employees, running shifts, solving problems before they become emergencies, keeping your team on track, and stepping up whenever something needs to get done.

Now you're looking for the opportunity to move into real management.

If you've been waiting for someone to give you that chance, this could be it.

The Wags Club is one of West Los Angeles's premier cage-free dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facilities, and we're looking for a Pet Resort Assistant Operations Manager to help lead our team and continue raising the bar for exceptional pet care and customer service.

We're looking for leadership potential just as much as previous management experience. If you're currently a Shift Lead, Team Lead, Keyholder, Lead Kennel Attendant, Veterinary Assistant Lead, Restaurant Shift Supervisor, Retail Supervisor, or another trusted senior employee who's ready for the next step, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As our Pet Resort Assistant Operations Manager, you'll work directly with ownership and senior leadership to help oversee the day-to-day operation of our facility while developing employees, improving systems, and delivering an exceptional experience for every dog and every client.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Help lead, coach, and motivate a passionate team of dog lovers.

  • Train and mentor new employees while reinforcing company standards.

  • Assist with employee coaching, performance development, and accountability.

  • Help resolve day-to-day staffing and operational challenges.

  • Lead by example and help build a positive, professional workplace culture.

Client Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build lasting client relationships.

  • Resolve client concerns professionally and confidently.

  • Help ensure every dog and every client receives an outstanding experience.

Operations

  • Oversee Front Office operations and daily workflow.

  • Assist with check-in and check-out procedures.

  • Audit daily reports for accuracy.

  • Help ensure sales goals are achieved.

  • Handle cash and daily transactions accurately.

  • Assist with scheduling and operational planning.

Facility & Animal Care

  • Ensure feeding, medication, grooming preparation, cleaning, and sanitation procedures are consistently followed.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility.

  • Coordinate with vendors and assist with facility maintenance.

  • Jump in wherever needed to support the team, the operation, and the dogs.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes ownership.

You notice problems before they become emergencies.

You enjoy helping other people succeed.

You stay calm under pressure, communicate well, and aren't afraid to make decisions.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A natural leader with a positive attitude.

  • Reliable, organized, and highly professional.

  • Comfortable balancing customer service with team leadership.

  • Confident using computers and willing to learn our Gingr management software.

  • Comfortable performing physical work, including cleaning, lifting, and assisting with dog handling or bathing when needed.

  • Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

  • In possession of a valid California driver's license.

Experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary medicine, hospitality, retail leadership, restaurant management, or another customer-service leadership role is highly valued.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay of $20.00 per hour.

  • This position is regularly scheduled for approximately 50 hours per week, including about 10 overtime hours each week.

  • Monthly performance bonuses when company goals are achieved.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Bring your own dog to work at no cost.

  • Employee discounts.

  • Real opportunities for advancement as our company continues to grow.

Why The Wags Club?

At The Wags Club, you'll do more than supervise a shift—you'll help lead a business that families trust with some of the most important members of their households every single day.

We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us, contribute ideas, develop people, and build a long-term management career in an industry they genuinely enjoy.

If that sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and tell us why you're ready for the next step in your leadership career.
