Summary/Objective
The Team Lead position provides leadership support to employees in the Payment Processing, Refunds and Scanning Department. Departments while assisting Supervisor and Manager. The training, monitoring, and assisting staff with questions and concerns are major functions of the position. Communication is an essential component of the Team Lead position. The Team Lead will assist in ensuring all 3 departments responsibilities are accomplished accurately and in a cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions
Assists supervisor and management to ensure the departments’ responsibilities and tasks are completed accurately and cost-effectively.
Assists with compiling and maintaining SOPs, procedure manuals, and information aides/spreadsheets for the departments. Review procedures to determine updates to improve quality and workflow.
Works with supervisor to train/mentor staff and provide feedback to supervisor and manager. Maintains staff interactions on areas staff members excel and/or require additional training.
Team Lead will be assigned areas to assist within the departments to help accomplish the goals and meet department deadlines.
Posts insurance payments/rejections to the account receivable in a timely manner.
Reviews refund requests received from insurance carriers to determine validity of request
Assist supervisor or manager with special projects.
Back up Productivity Reports when the supervisor is unavailable.
Supervisory Responsibility
The position assists the supervisor with training staff on processes and procedures within the departments and supplying feedback.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.

Required Education and Experience
High School graduate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office or a related field. Experience with the claim adjudication process for government and commercial insurance carriers along with basic medical terminology.
Preferred Education and Experience
Preferred experience with supervisory duties or employee training.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Basic knowledge of Windows based computer applications. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Aptitude to retain detailed information. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain production standards. Must be able to assess a situation and decide the best course of action while working independently.
