Pharma Business Analytics & Strategy Consultant (Tokyo / Osaka)

Role Summary

This role sits within a high-performing analytics and insights team supporting clients in solving complex business challenges through data-driven decision making.

You will act as a key analytics partner, translating business questions into structured analyses and delivering clear, actionable insights that support strategic and operational decisions.

The role requires strong quantitative thinking, client engagement skills, and the ability to communicate insights in a simple and impactful way to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Analytical Problem Solving

• Translate client business questions into structured analytical approaches
  


• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities
  


• Deliver fact-based insights to support commercial and strategic decision making
  


• Provide ad hoc analysis to address evolving client needs
  

2. Data Interpretation & Insight Generation

• Work with internal and client data sources to generate actionable insights
  


• Simplify complex analytical outputs into clear business narratives
  


• Ensure insights are aligned with client business priorities and KPIs
  

3. Performance Tracking & Reporting

• Support the development and enhancement of dashboards and reporting tools
  


• Monitor key business performance metrics across brands, campaigns, and channels
  


• Identify performance gaps and recommend improvements
  


• Collaborate with technical teams to improve reporting quality and efficiency
  

4. Cross-functional Client Collaboration

• Partner closely with client stakeholders across marketing, sales, and analytics teams
  


• Support business planning, forecasting, and performance discussions
  


• Work within a global analytics community and share best practices
  


• Ensure high-quality delivery aligned with client expectations
  

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in analytics, consulting, or data-driven roles


• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience handling complex datasets
  


• Experience using tools such as Excel; exposure to SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar is a plus
  


• Strong communication skills with ability to simplify technical outputs for business users
  


• Client-facing experience with strong stakeholder management skills
  


• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  


• Fluent English (Japanese is a plus depending on team)
