Pharmaceutical Project Engineer/Project Manager

Hughes Engineering is currently hiring Project Engineers/Project Managers to support cradle-to-grave capital projects within the Pharmaceutical Industry across multiple locations in the RTP/Raleigh area. Typical projects include aseptic fill/finish/packaging, bioprocessing, facilities/utilities, and automation integration. We are seeking experienced Project Managers that have specific experience in an FDA regulated environment.

Job Purpose:

Completes pharmaceutical engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements, responsible for cost, schedule and quality capital project deliverables.

Job Duties:

• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management
  


• Determines/Develops project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates
  


• Provides timely engineering solutions to problems associated with project assignments
  


• Assist with Technical evaluations/project task on capital projects from the concept CAR funding stages through procurement, installation, startup and commissioning
  


• Develops or assists with the development of project schedules by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  


• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
  


• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
  


• Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts
  


• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
  


• Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  


• Maintains project records and documentation such as meeting minutes, specifications (URS, FRS, etc.), drawings (P&ID, schematics), change control, Maximo forms/data, etc.
  


• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
  


• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical preferred)
  


• 3 – 5 years related work experience
  


• Pharmaceutical experience preferred
  


• Instrumentation & Controls experience a plus
  


• GMP/cGMP knowledge a plus
  


• PMP certification a plus
