Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team! As a Pharmacist, you will be receiving incoming prescriptions, reviewing them for accuracy, and filling them with the correct medicine and dose. You will also be talking with customers to help them understand their medications and possible side effects, advising them on medication storage, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. The ideal Pharmacist candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is familiar with pharmaceutical best practices.
Responsibilities
- Read and review incoming prescriptions for accuracy, suitability to patient, and potential interactions
- Provide information to patients on side effects, dosage, specific storage needs, and interactions with other medications
- Maintain excellent patient records and pharmacy files
- Conduct regular inventory and maintain proper standards for accepting new inventory and categorizing it appropriately
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment
Qualifications
- Must hold a current state pharmacist license
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed

Pharmacists’ employed by North Shore Chemists are clinically trained in a variety of disease states and share their knowledge throughout the region by conducting educational seminars; instituting seasonal program offerings, and administering flu vaccines and immunizations within the community.
Kathy, a graduate of St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1997 and Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration in 2002. She has been a practicing pharmacist for 23 years (1997) and has extensive experience in the community retail pharmacy setting and has led and managed teams for major retail chains such as CVS Health and Rite Aid Corporation. She has served as a preceptor for St. John’s University and Long Island University Pharmacy students mentoring and training students of pharmacy.
Kathy resides in Great Neck and is happy to serve the local community and surrounding areas in Nassau County, Suffolk County and Queens, NY. Her number one goal is to help patients manage their health and to deliver superior service to the community.
