Analyze incoming specialty prescriptions for accuracy and fulfillment potential.  Using critical thinking skills, resolves any issues with the prescription accuracy and completion, and manages the fulfillment process in our non-dispensing pharmacy.  Follows up with medical providers to resolve issues to ensure script can be processed and fulfilled.  Understands and adhere to standard operating procedures and regulatory standards.  Recommend improvements to operating processes to ensure the best patient quality experience. Completes pharmacy to pharmacy transfer to facilitate active prescription relocation to a valid place of service.

Using complex problem-solving skills, understanding issues with provider support, specialty prescription support, knowledge of insurance verification processes, and ensuring issues are sent and resolved to the correct internal team.

Evaluate clinical health care documentation to identify relevant clinical information for medication therapy.

Gathering benefit and utilization management criteria to facilitate prior authorization approvals with providers.

Minimum Education (Degree, majors, certifications, etc.)

Doctor of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist degree from ACPE institution

Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Experience (include no. years)

Specialty pharmacy experience preferred, knowledge in limited drug distribution networks and REMS drug programs.
