Job Summary

Our Specialty Pharmacy Team Leader is responsible to assess, develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain clinically relevant tools to support clinical programs and services; to lead, develop, and coach across the Specialty Pharmacy Team and aid the Director of Pharmacy in maintaining the pharmacy to remain compliant to State Board regulations and Accreditation Standards.

At Giant Eagle’s Specialty Pharmacy facility, you will lead a dynamic team in a closed-door pharmacy setting, fostering a collaborative environment while championing the advantages of on-site work, including enhanced communication, efficiency, and team synergy. Drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and cultivate a positive culture to optimize patient care and pharmacy performance.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
• Experience Desired: Pharmacy Management experience preferred; Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred
• Education Required: Bachelors Degree
• Certification or Licensing Required: Pharmacy
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds

Job Responsibility

• Develop and maintain cinical content and all required documentation according to policy
• Ensure department is meeting service metrics to provide excellent customer service to members (i. e. turnaround times and dispensing accuracy).
• Perform all supporting duties to contribute to the safe and efficient dispensing of all patient orders by following all quality assurance policy and procedures and quality improvement program.
• Ensure conformance with established policies and procedures, regulatory and compliance guidelines.
• Complete a quality check on all prescriptions to ensure accurate specialty medication is dispensed and actively participate in quality improvement activities.
• Maintain a neat and sterile work environment to ensure all Company, local, state, and federal government requirements are met.
• Maintain knowledge and professional competency in area of practice by obtaining continuing education and completing all clinically disease state overviews.
