Job Description - Pharmacist In Charge - Northwest Health Center

We are seeking a PHARMACIST IN CHARGE to become a part of our team! You will oversee pharmacy components of the primary medical care site (SHH - Northwest Health Center) by ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of the pharmacy.



Responsibilities:



  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations governing the operation of the respective pharmacy.

  • Maintains records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations

  • Ensures legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy operations.

  • Following established departmental rules, procedures, policies, quality-improving objectives, environmental, safety or infection controlling standards.

  • Serve as lead of the specialty and compounding pharmacy services. 

  • Ability to compound prescription medication. 

  • Conduct and review results of periodic audits and address any deficiencies.

  • Oversees pharmacy service delivery.

  • Process and accurately dispensing prescription orders.

  • Counseling patients regarding health care and prescription medication needs.

  • Provide functional supervision of support staff.

  • Ability to flexible to round at other locations (SHH- Greenspoint Health Center)


 


Qualifications:



  • Pharmacy Degree from an Accredited University or College.

  • License Requirement: Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas; 

  • Specialty Pharmacy Experience – Certified in Specialty Pharmacy with at least 5 year of specialty pharmacy experience.

  • Compounding Experience - Certified in Compounding Pharmacy  with at least 1 year of compounding experience. 

  • Work with frequent interruptions.

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.

  • Detailed oriented and organized.

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus



Working Conditions



  • The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required
