Looking for a New rewarding Pharmacy role?   Prairie Band Health Services and IHS  are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and knowledgeable Contract Pharmacists to join our healthcare team at Tsaile Health Center in Tsaile, AZ.   Our ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing health and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our family of patients. This position requires a strong foundation in clinical pharmacy practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care. As a Pharmacist, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.

• Flexible Long-Term contract, with extension possibilities
• Pharmacy hours,  Monday through Friday & Holidays: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Closed on weekends and Holidays
• Outpatient Pharmacy
• Can work on any valid United States,  Pharmacy license 
• Previous contract experience a plus
• Previous IHS facility experience helpful
• 2+ years experience required
• Can work on any state license

Duties

• Review and interpret physician orders to ensure appropriate medication therapy.
• Dispense medications accurately and provide clear instructions to patients regarding their use.
• Conduct patient assessments to monitor medication efficacy and safety.
• Manage inventory levels of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage and handling.
• Provide consultations on pain management strategies and medication-related issues.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy software systems.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques when preparing sterile medications.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in hospital settings, including pediatrics, to deliver optimal patient care.

Skills

• Strong background in clinical pharmacy practices.
• Proficient in using pharmacy software for medication management and documentation.
• Knowledgeable in pain management protocols and patient assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with inventory management processes to ensure adequate stock levels of medications.
• Understanding of medical terminology relevant to pharmaceutical care.
• Experience working within hospital environments, particularly in pediatrics, is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy program/school
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacist within the past 36 months
• Previous contract experience a plus
• Previous IHS facility experience helpful
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Have a Pharmacist degree from a school of pharmacy approved by a state-accrediting agency
• Possess a current, active, unrestricted license from any of the 50 United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia. 
• Maintain continuing education/certification
• Must be a US citizen, living primarily in the United States
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 
• Must meet all credentialing and background investigation requirements.
