Summary
The OBH Pharmacy Benefit Program Assistant will provide administrative support and data check/entry duties for the OBH Behavioral Health Pharmacy Benefit Program (PBP). Incumbent will perform data entry/maintenance of applicable databases; assist with pharmacy benefit operations, work with authorized providers to troubleshoot prescription issues that may arise. Incumbent will coordinate communications with stakeholders, as necessary, and conduct follow-up activities, maintain correspondence, and record keeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Pharmacy Benefit Program
- Ensures eligibility status of consumers.
- Inputs data into custom database, as well as Excel spreadsheets.
- Checks Dept. of Human Services Client Information and Payment System (CIPS) platform to verify information on the Maximum Liability Form 878.
- Works with providers to resolve problems with incorrect data and incomplete 878s.
- Provides, as needed, administrative support for the PBP.
- Organizes and maintains electronic and hard copies of incoming documents.
- Ensures that the Supervisor is aware of any problems that may arise.
- Performs pharmacy-related Internet queries as required.
Administrative Support
- Maintains the database of stakeholders to enable effective communication.
- Establishes mail and e-mail distribution lists to ensure dissemination of information in a timely manner.
- Coordinates, schedules and follows up on meetings with stakeholders for the OBH PBP staff, as directed.
- Performs general administrative functions including telephone and written communications
- Collects and presents data and information in a format that informs decision making.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of database applications and the ability to work well with computers and computer software, as required (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, e-mail usage and Internet Explorer)
- Ability to respect confidentiality of consumer data
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Good communication skills
- Good organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to integrate information and present it in a format easily understood
- Ability to relate professionally to consumers, staff, agency and pharmacy representatives
- Knowledge of general office equipment (e.g., computer, calculator, fax machine and copier)

Education/Experience Requirements
Associate’s degree in a health-related field, plus 2-3 years professional work experience in a health program/field. A working knowledge of spreadsheets and data analysis is important.

High School Diploma, plus two yearsof progressively complex administrative and clerical, data entry or related experience.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training working in the drug and alcohol and/or mental health field.
