Job Title: Pharmacy Customer Service Specialist

 Reports To: Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Customer Service Specialist supports the pharmacy team by performing administrative and customer service tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. This role involves assisting customers, handling prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring accurate record-keeping in compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone with courtesy and professionalism
• Process prescription orders and refills under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately
• Organize, stock, and manage over the counter (OTC) products and inventory
• File and maintain prescription records, invoices, and other documentation
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area
• Respond to customer inquiries and refer complex questions to the pharmacist
• Follow HIPAA and pharmacy laws regarding confidentiality and patient privacy

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous retail, customer service, or pharmacy experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills

Working Conditions:

• May require standing for long periods
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Work includes evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on pharmacy hours
