Pharmacy Customer Service Representative

Animal Dermatology Group (ADG) is the largest veterinary dermatology business in the U.S. and manages three (3) divisions. Our Animal Dermatology Clinic (ADC) division operates large, multi-doctor referral practices specializing in veterinary dermatology throughout the United States and internationally. ADG’s Animal Dermatopathology Services (ADS) provides veterinarians with expert interpretation of animal skin biopsy specimens and our Animal Immunotherapy Services (AIS) produces oral and injectable immunotherapy for allergic pets. In additional to providing advanced, specialized care to patients and supporting general practice veterinarians, ADG participates in drug/product development, clinical trials and has the largest approved American College of Veterinary Dermatology residency training program.

Animal Immunotherapy Services is seeking a veterinary Pharmacy Customer Service Representative. This individual must work cooperatively with members of the ADG management team, AIS team members and our referring veterinary clinic medical staff to provide safe, accurate and timely delivery of allergy medications to veterinarians and their clients. Under the supervision of the AIS Manager, the veterinary Pharmacy Customer Service Representative position processes new orders, updates client and veterinary information, notifies clients about order status, and maintains inventories.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:

• Has the ability to triage allergy vaccine requests and fill new orders accurately and efficiently
• Communicates effectively and has excellent phone skills in providing customer service
• Able to effectively use computer and client management software to accurately provide medications in a timely manner, ensure accurate billing, and update client records
• Order and restock inventory to maximize inventory turnover, prevent out-of-stocks, and minimize expired allergens
• Ensures correct storage conditions for medications, checks for expired drug products and other defects, and removes them from inventory
• Maintain and troubleshoot in-house processes
• Maintain cleanliness/organization of pharmacy

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• 1+ year(s) of experience as a veterinary receptionist and/or technician
• Has knowledge of veterinary terminology, weights and measures, and pharmacy calculations
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with coworkers and clients
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, type at least 30 words per minute, lift up to 35 pounds, bend, squat, stoop and reach above and below shoulder level
