You will be responsible for the design, build, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our Epic Willow (Inpatient and/or Ambulatory) application. Utilizing your clinical background, you will ensure that our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system supports safe, efficient, and evidence-based medication management workflows across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

· System Build & Configuration: Design, build, and maintain Epic Willow components, including medication records (ERXs), order sets, smart text, charging structures, and clinical decision support tools.

· Workflow Optimization: Analyze complex clinical pharmacy workflows and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, IT) to optimize medication ordering, dispensing, and administration processes.

· Troubleshooting & Support: Provide tier-2 and tier-3 application support, investigating and resolving hardware, software, and workflow integration errors or system glitches.

· Application & Go-Live Support: Provide tier-2 and tier-3 application support. Actively participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule to resolve critical system issues. Work varied shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) as needed to provide support during system go-lives, upgrades, and major rollouts.

· System Testing & Upgrades: Plan and execute thorough unit, system, and integration testing for Epic upgrades, new releases, and custom build modifications.

· Smart Pump & Third-Party Integration: Maintain and build interfaces between Epic and pharmacy automation systems, including automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis/Omnicell) and smart infusion pump drug libraries.

· Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensure all system builds adhere to pharmacy laws, HIPAA, DEA regulations, and patient safety standards (ISMP).

· End-User Training: Author technical documentation and collaborate with educators to train pharmacy staff and clinicians on new Epic features and system workflows.

Required Qualifications:

· Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

· Licensure: Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in the hiring state (or eligibility for reciprocity within 3 months of hire).

· Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical or operational hospital pharmacy experience.

· Epic Certification: Active certification in Epic Willow Inpatient or Epic Willow Ambulatory is highly preferred. (Note: Candidates with strong clinical backgrounds and proficiency/readiness to achieve certification within 6 months of hire may be considered.)

Preferred Skills & Competencies

· Informatics Experience: Prior experience in pharmacy informatics, system analysis, or EHR implementation highly preferred.

· Analytical Mindset: Strong data validation, Excel data analysis, and logical problem-solving skills are a MUST.

· Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills to effectively translate complex clinical workflows into technical requirements.

· Collaborative Nature: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional IT and clinical teams under minimal supervision.
