Job Summary


The Pharmacy Lab Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the timely collection, submission, and processing of laboratory reports for the pharmacy. This role involves close coordination with laboratories, nurses, and patients to ensure that all required lab results are received and processed in alignment with the pharmacy’s operational procedures. Serving as the primary point of contact for lab-related activities, the Lab Coordinator monitors, tracks, and follows up on outstanding lab reports to support a smooth and efficient workflow.




Schedule Details: 



  • On-Site, Laguna Hills, CA. 

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm


Duties and Responsibilities 
Lab Collection and Submission



  • Ensure timely receipt and submission of all required laboratory reports in accordance with pharmacy procedures.

  • Coordinate effectively with labs, nurses, and patients to streamline the collection and reporting process.

  • Serve as the primary contact for all lab-related inquiries, ensuring reports are processed promptly.


Monitoring and Follow-Up



  • Track the status of lab report submissions and follow up on any outstanding results.

  • Ensure lab results are accurately recorded and available for review by clinical pharmacy staff.


Documentation and Record Management



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all lab-related activities.

  • Utilize tracking systems to monitor lab result status and ensure compliance with internal reporting standards.


Collaboration and Communication



  • Act as a liaison between labs, nursing staff, patients, and pharmacy personnel.

  • Proactively resolve issues or delays, coordinating with all relevant parties to maintain efficient operations.


Process Improvement



  • Identify and suggest improvements to optimize the lab collection and reporting process.

  • Stay informed about changes in lab practices and incorporate updates into workflows as needed.


Customer Service and Support



  • Provide clear and courteous communication to nurses, patients, and lab staff.

  • Address inquiries and resolve concerns regarding lab submissions in a timely and professional manner.

Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)


Preferred Qualifications



  • Postsecondary education in a healthcare-related field.

  • Prior experience in a pharmacy, healthcare setting, or laboratory coordination.


Technical Proficiency



  • Comfortable using pharmacy management software and tracking systems.

  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology and lab reporting processes (preferred).


Work Environment 


This role is primarily office-based, with occasional interaction with lab facilities and healthcare providers. The Lab Coordinator will be expected to work efficiently in a fast- paced environment, managing multiple tasks to ensure timely lab processing.
