GENERAL SUMMARY 

The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator improves patient care and department performance by leading personnel training and education, compliance, accreditation, and daily operations support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES 

The responsibilities and duties described in this job description are intended to provide a general overview of the position. Duties may vary depending on the specific needs of the affiliate or location you are working at and/or state requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Aid in the development, maintenance, and implementation of policies and procedures designed to promote compliance and best practices.
  • Organize and execute a structured, standard training program to orient new personnel and educate all personnel on an ongoing basis and as needed.
  • Develop and implement a Performance Improvement Program consistent with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, as applicable.
  • Lead processes to achieve Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation with ACHC, URAC, and/or other accrediting bodies.
  • Manage payer credentialing processes to completion.
  • Assist with integration of new practices and standup of new MID locations.
  • Provide general operations support and project management.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.
  • Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by state.

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations applicable to pharmacy and medically integrated dispensing.
  • Experience managing pharmacy and/or medically integrated dispensing operations, including writing policies and procedures, training personnel and leading personnel, and overseeing day-to-day activities.
  • Knowledge of payer credentialing and ACHC accreditation processes and requirements.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage timelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to travel amongst various Affiliates.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years Pharmacy Technician or Medically Integrated Dispensing experience required.
  • 2+ years healthcare leadership experience preferred.

REQUIRED TRAVEL

  • Approximately 20% travel, depending on locations' needs.
