Pharmacy Technician

Description

• Assists with processing prescription refill requests per established protocols;
• Prepares Prior Authorization Requests;
• Assists with completing TARS as needed;
• Identifies preferred pharmaceutical formularies to assist providers in prescriptive practices;
• Conducts Medication Reconciliations / Medication reviews as needed;
• Completes patient paperwork related to the filling of prescription;
• Communicates with local pharmacies to help resolve prescriptive issues;
• Follows up with patients to address medication-related issues;
• Notifies pharmacies of medication cancellations when indicated;
• Attains patient CURES reports as needed;
• Cognizant of the limits of the scope of practice;
• Seeks assistance from providers or RN’s when needed;
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The Pharmacy Technician at Alliance Medical Center has the following qualifications: 

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required CA Registered Pharmacy Technician certificate.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
