Are you a skilled Pharmacy Technician who is passionate about serving others and making a difference in your community? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic pharmacy team at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA). As a Pharmacy Technician at PTHA, you will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure safe, accurate, and timely prescription services in a high-volume environment (800–1,200 prescriptions daily). You will play a vital role in patient care, customer service, and pharmacy operations.
What You’ll Do:
Your daily work as a Pharmacy Technician will directly support the health of our patients and families, helping to ensure access to essential medications and trusted healthcare services.
- Assist pharmacists with prescription preparation and dispensing
- Triage patients at the pharmacy window with professionalism and compassion
- Process new and refill prescriptions (in person, phone, electronic, and fax)
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations, labeling, counting, pouring, and mixing medications
- Verify patient information, eligibility, and insurance
- Troubleshoot third-party billing rejections and complete prior authorizations
- Maintain pharmaceutical inventory, inspect for outdates, and restock as needed
- Document stock movement, returns, and destructions
- Support training of technical staff in billing, inventory control, and prescription production
- Rotate through all pharmacy work areas to support team workflow
- Participate in monthly pharmacy meetings and annual required trainings
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
What You Bring:
- Current WA State Pharmacy Technician certification
- At least (2) years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Recent experience in a retail pharmacy is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in third-party billing and dosage calculations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
