Responsibilities:

• Accurate preparation of patient medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose, cartfills, TPN, narcotics
• Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications
• Timely delivery and retrieval of patient medications
• Inventories, replenishes, and maintains drug stock which includes automated dispensing cabinets
• Adherence to Dept. Policies
• Assist the Pharmacist with medication/patient care related issues

Position Requirements:

• Prior experience, as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting or graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program is required
• Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Ohio State Board of Pharmacy registration required
• Replenishes and delivers drug boxes as required
• Inventories assigned area daily, replenishes, and maintains drug stock
• Removes and replaces all outdated inventory in assigned areas
• Notifies purchasing area when stock has been exhausted or outdated
• Retrieves needed medications from Storeroom when required
• Replenishes automated dispensing cabinets as required
• Maintains work space including but not limited to replenishing stock, checking for outdates, and ordering.
