IV Care, a Home Infusion Pharmacy has provided excellent care to our patients for 25 years. IV Care Healthcare Professionals work together to elevate the standard of care for our patients while supporting each other to promote a healthy work-life balance. The pharmacy technician will focus on intake and will work an 8-hour DAY shift and will be eligible to participate in the comprehensive benefits package.

Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician will perform many pharmacy-related functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

The employee will be trained in sterile compounding, communicating information to hospital case managers and IV Care RN Liaisons, in clean room maintenance, inventory maintenance and computer data entry. The IV Care pharmacy technician has a key role in driving successful patient outcomes and makes a different in the lives of the patients that we serve.

Job Duties:

• Perform Sterile Compounding and Assist with Clean Room Maintenance.
• Verify that information on written prescriptions and refill requests is complete and accurate.
• Answer phones and provide customer service.
• Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs.
• Receive and process prescription requests by phone or sent electronically from doctors’ offices.
• Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patients.
• Order prescriptions when supplies are low.
• Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 Minimum Job Qualifications:

• High School or GED education: required.  
• Valid and unrestricted Pharmacy Te chnician Illinois License.
• Certification is preferred and will be required. 
• 2 years of prior Pharmacy experience is preferred.
