Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician Lead Instructor to support and elevate our Pharmacy Technician program at the Colorado Springs campus. This fullâtime role blends teaching, program leadership, faculty support, and externship coordination to ensure students receive a highâquality, industryâaligned education.
As the Lead Instructor, you will oversee curriculum implementation, support faculty, maintain program integrity, and guide students through classroom, lab, and externship learning experiences. You’ll play a central role in accreditation preparation, program effectiveness planning, and community engagement.
Curriculum Oversight — Ensure proper implementation and adherence to the Pharmacy Technician curriculum.
Accreditation Support — Partner with the Assistant Dean of Faculty to prepare accreditation documentation, facilitate programmatic meetings, and produce meeting minutes.
Program Review — Review textbooks and curriculum materials; recommend updates during revision cycles.
Externship Coordination — Conduct externship site qualifications, complete midpoint student visits, and supervise externship students in collaboration with Career Services.
Faculty Mentorship — Assist with onboarding new hires and provide ongoing mentorship to program faculty.
Supply & Equipment Management — Assist with inventory and ordering of program supplies and equipment.
Advisory Board Leadership — Facilitate Advisory Board meetings and communicate program outcomes, student progress, and community feedback to campus leadership.
Program Effectiveness — Support annual updates to the Program Effectiveness Plan (PEP) and track graduate certification pass rates when required.
Hybrid Faculty Coordination — Communicate with hybrid didactic faculty and support hybrid students as needed.
Lesson Planning — Design and deliver lesson plans using diverse teaching techniques that support multiple learning styles.
Student Evaluation — Evaluate and grade assignments within 72 hours; provide timely feedback.
Student Support — Maintain office hours, advise students, and document academic or behavioral concerns promptly.
Course Material Review — Suggest updates to syllabi, assignments, and handouts through established processes.
Campus Engagement — Participate in faculty meetings, advisory boards, workshops, graduations, and professional development.
Documentation — Complete attendance records, incident reports, early alerts, and other required documentation.
Community & Guest Engagement — Arrange guest speakers, field trips, and visits to pharmacies or medical offices.
Safety & Professionalism — Enforce safety standards and model professionalism for students.
Associate degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U. S. Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Graduate of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited pharmacy technician program or graduate from an accredited program recognized by the U. S. Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach.
Five (5) years of occupational experience in pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.
Must be a member of at least one national and one state pharmacy organization.
Three (3) years of teaching experience in the subject field.
Must be a licensed pharmacist or a nationally certified pharmacy technician in good standing.
If applicable, must adhere to and have a current license, certification, or another credential as required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the field.
Hourly Range: $28.19 – $35.23
Schedule: Partâtime, Monday–Friday, 25 hours
