Position Summary

As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in laboratory operations by ensuring the accurate collection, documentation, and transportation of specimens. Beyond technical expertise, you will provide compassionate patient care, recognizing the importance of every sample collected. This role requires driving to various collection sites and performing phlebotomy services with professionalism and accuracy.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0700 to 1530
Pay Range: $19 - $21 per hour
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.70 per mile

Responsibilities

• Collect and process specimens following proper procedures.
• Accurately input patient and specimen data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Verify and label specimens correctly.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and transport.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to compliance protocols.
• Drive to collection locations in all local weather conditions using a personal vehicle.
• Use a tablet for data entry and tracking purposes (smartphones may not be used for patient data storage).
• Maintain infection control procedures and a clean working environment.
• Provide excellent patient care and uphold high standards of professionalism.
• Stay informed on best practices and industry standards in phlebotomy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least one year of phlebotomy experience outside of training and plasma centers is required (two years preferred).
• Proficiency in pediatric, geriatric, specimen processing, and capillary blood collections.
• Previous mobile phlebotomy experience is highly desirable.
• Reliable personal transportation with auto insurance and a clean driving record.
• Must be comfortable driving in all local weather conditions.
• Prior experience in courier or delivery driving is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent bedside manner and patient interaction skills.
• Proficiency with routing software and GPS navigation.
• Basic computer skills required.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• Current auto liability insurance coverage.

• W2 hourly employees receive an 8% shift differential for hours worked between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., as well as for all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
