Phlebotomist

CareArc is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to join our team.  

Key Responsibilities Include: 

• Pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric fingerstick and venipuncture of clinic patients.


• Perform special collection procedures, such as; timed tests, including those requiring oral ingestion of prescribed substances; and point-of-care testing. 


•  Accurately input and extract laboratory information for the electronic medical record.  


• Proper collection, handling, labeling, and preparation for transport of specimens. 


• Perform quality control, equipment calibration and equipment maintenance procedures according to the manufacturer's specifications to ensure accurate and timely lab results.


• Properly dispose of contaminated sharps and other laboratory supplies.


• Monitor and order laboratory supplies to maintain a sufficient inventory.


• Assist in the clinic, as needed, with point of care testing.


• Perform other administrative and clerical duties in support of the medical care teams.


• Participate in quality assurance initiatives.

 Qualifications

• High school graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.


• Six months or more of specialized training, either on the job or through a formalized program, which includes venipuncture training, laboratory record keeping and sample safety preferred. 


• Certification from an approved phlebotomy education program preferred.
