Phlebotomist

Avant Tech is excited to announce an opening for a Phlebotomist. In this essential role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and other specimen collections to support accurate diagnostic testing. You will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care with compassion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipunctures and capillary draws for patients of all ages.
• Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling before and after collection.
• Prepare and maintain equipment for procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
• Handle and transport specimen samples in accordance with laboratory standards.
• Educate patients on the blood draw process and provide reassurance to reduce anxiety.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following infection control practices.
• Document patient information, procedures performed, and results accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficient laboratory operations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
• Certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., CPT, PBT) is a plus.
• Previous experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety and procedural guidelines.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 40 hours/week
• Onsite – Chicago, IL 60612
• Contract Length: Up to 4 years
