Phlebotomist

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures and capillary draws to collect blood samples for laboratory testing. You will play a critical role in patient care by ensuring accurate and efficient blood collection while providing outstanding service to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures on patients of all ages, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare patients for blood collection by explaining the procedure clearly and answering any questions they may have.
• Label and handle blood samples according to established protocols and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to infection control procedures.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow in the laboratory.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Participate in training and development activities and stay current in phlebotomy best practices.

Qualifications:

• BLS certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Current California Phlebotomist certification preferred (e.g., ASCP, NHA, or equivalent).
• Experience in phlebotomy in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to perform well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of safety and infection control procedures in a healthcare setting.
• Must be compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to patient care.
