The Medical Technician (Phlebotomist) will provide onsite laboratory services, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing. The standard of care must meet or exceed national standards established by the Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines.
$26 - $26 an hour
Location: VA Boston Healthcare System (Multiple Locations)

Key Responsibilities
Phlebotomy Services: Perform patient phlebotomy for inpatient ward rounds, outpatient clinics, Emergency Department (ED), STAT requests, ASAP, and timed draws.
Specimen Processing: Execute sample processing and preparation for send-out testing.
Patient Safety: Positively identify patients prior to sample collection and identify samples before testing or aliquoting.
Problem Resolution: Identify, document, and resolve issues related to collection or processing.
Data Security: Safeguard both electronic and paper-based patient information.
Professionalism: Deliver patient-centered care professionally to maintain high satisfaction among all stakeholders and customers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of recent phlebotomy experience.
Work Schedule
Shifts: Various day shifts starting as early as 5:30 AM and ending as late as 5:00 PM.
