Pulse Vascular, LLC is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and dependable Phlebotomist to join our growing clinical team. This position is responsible for performing blood draws in both clinical and mobile settings while providing exceptional patient care in accordance with Pulse Vascular's standards of excellence.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, excellent bedside manner, and the ability to work independently in various patient environments, including homes, assisted living facilities, partner sites, and outpatient clinical settings. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate specimen collection, timely laboratory processing, and a positive patient experience.
Essential Responsibilities
Phlebotomy & Patient Care
Perform venipunctures and finger-stick blood collections on patients of all ages.
Conduct mobile phlebotomy visits at patient homes, assisted living facilities, and partner locations.
Verify patient identity and laboratory requisitions prior to specimen collection.
Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for transport according to established protocols.
Ensure all required laboratory testing is completed and resulted prior to scheduled procedures.
Reassure and assist anxious, elderly, or physically limited patients during specimen collection.
Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory collections and specimen tracking activities.
Enter collection information into electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Clinical Support
Assist clinical staff and supplement patient care operations during urgent staffing needs.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical and mobile work environments.
Monitor and maintain phlebotomy and laboratory supply inventories, including mobile collection kits.
Coordinate specimen pickup and delivery with laboratory personnel and courier services.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and company policies and procedures.
Follow Standard Precautions and proper infection prevention practices.
Safely handle, clean, decontaminate, and dispose of sharps and medical waste.
Report safety concerns, incidents, and workplace injuries promptly.
Teamwork & Professionalism
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members
Maintain a professional, positive, and patient-centered approach at all times
Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and assigned committees
Assist with onboarding and training of new team members as assigned
Adapt to changing schedules, patient volumes, and organizational needs
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Training Program.
Current Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, RPT, or equivalent).
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for mobile phlebotomy assignments.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliable vehicle for transportation
Minimum one (1) year of phlebotomy experience
Preferred
Experience with mobile phlebotomy services
Familiarity with EMR systems and electronic documentation
Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen handling.
Strong understanding of infection control and aseptic technique.
Knowledge of laboratory collection standards and specimen transport procedures.
Excellent customer service and patient communication skills.
Compassionate and professional demeanor when working with diverse patient populations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Commitment to ongoing education and competency development.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, including mobile phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform specimen collection and patient care duties.
Ability to comply with OSHA exposure control requirements.
