Phlebotomist, Stockton, CA 95231

Avant Tech is on the lookout for a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our dynamic team. In this vital position, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare operations by performing blood draws and collecting specimens from patients to facilitate accurate and timely medical testing. You will be working closely with patients, exhibiting care and professionalism to ensure a positive experience.

Responsibilities Include:

• Conducting venipunctures and capillary blood draws with skill and precision.
• Identifying and labeling specimens correctly to maintain chain of custody and avoid errors.
• Preparing, maintaining, and utilizing phlebotomy equipment in compliance with health regulations.
• Transporting specimens to the laboratory while ensuring their integrity and preservation.
• Providing patient education on the blood draw process and addressing any concerns.
• Maintaining a sterile and organized work environment to prevent contamination.
• Documenting all procedures accurately in our electronic health records system.
• Supporting other laboratory operations and administrative tasks as necessary.

• High School Diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training course; certification is an asset.
• Prior experience in a phlebotomy or healthcare role, 3 years preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients.
• Strong attention to detail and strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Basic computer proficiency, especially with electronic health record systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively in a busy environment.

Contract Type: Contract to hire

Hours: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week (40 hours/week)
