Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Environmental Technician to join our Phoenix operation in Battle Mountain. The successful candidate will collect environmental data and samples necessary for environmental compliance reporting. They will also provide administrative support within the Environmental Team.

Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the Environmental senior or superintendent, the Environmental Administrative Assistant is responsible for the following:

 

  • Collect environmental data and samples necessary for environmental compliance reporting.

  • Use a variety of instruments and equipment to gather data and conduct monitoring.

  • Conduct inspections required by various compliance programs.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of sample collection and data.

  • Manage analytical data within the MonitorPro databases.

  • Provide training for site personnel, where necessary.

  • Travel to remote areas of the site and collect samples and monitoring data.

  • Troubleshoot sampling equipment, pumps, weather stations, transducers.

  • Courier samples to and from site.

  • This position requires fluid communication within the Environmental Team and with external stakeholders outside of the group.

  • This position requires the ability to regularly walk over uneven, sloped, rocky, wet or icy ground and the ability to lift 50 or more pounds consistently and safely. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Provide confidential administrative support for the Environmental team

  • Prepare confidential documents and presentations. 

  • Electronic filing 

  • SAP Management

  • Provide budget support for accruals, forecasting and invoicing. 

  • Attend meetings and document minutes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Certificate in science/engineering or degree in science preferred

  • Previous experience in hydrology data collection, databases, field instrumentation and electronics preferred

  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others required

  • Strong computer skills including experience with PowerPoint, Word & Excel required, experience with systems such as LiveLink, Oracle, and MonitorPro preferred

  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors throughout the year, with little supervision in remote areas required
  • Ability to handle vehicles and navigate dirt roads making decisions to prevent property damage and safety events required
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of employees required

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required

  • Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
