Objective:
Be responsible for the planning, executing, control and implementation of the improvements for the activities of the Technical Assistance of Clients, to achieve their satisfaction.
In addition, supporting the sales activity with technical arguments and engineering insights about promoted products characteristics, also through technical agreements negotiated with production partners.
Duties:
Develops customers technical data sheets for each client, where material characteristics are stated, thickness, width, temper, roughness, tin coating, chrome coating, amount of oil, tolerances, ink applications, coatings, etc., to ensure end use compliance.
Be certain about the quality and appearance requirements according to the patterns and standards agreed with the client and the specifications of the agreed technical data sheets.
Verify and update partner producers’ ability to meet the standards required by customers to guarantee that the material can be easily accepted by the supply departments of each company.
Negotiated detailed production performance for each customer and each end-use with related measurable KPIs.
Draw and diffuse the handling and storage rules for the products sold to avoid damage throughout the logistics chain.
Typical Client based Responsibilities:
Planning tasks in a way such to have a complete and systemic vision of the status.
Complete understanding of clients in the targeted market
Prepare strategic product development plans for each client; with clear relationships between objective technical improvements and customer’s desired results.
Design and management of a database, which facilitates the monitoring and control of issues with each client.
Timely attention to customer claims and complaints. Prepare detailed report for each visit
Detect training needs of users of our products and provide the service needed. Keep up-to-date educational talks on raw materials, processes, products and their uses.
Analyze the causes of the complaints presented by the customers, establish the relevant corrective actions and verify their compliance.
Provide technical assistance to the direct and indirect users of our products, to guarantee their correct use.
Periodically collects customers feedback on materials characteristics and mechanical behaviors, as well as measures performance KPIs for the customer in benchmarking with competitors’ products.
Required Skills:
Experience in the manufacturing processes of tinplate, chrome plate, application of inks and varnishes, transversal and longitudinal cutting processes (Slitting), die-cutting, drawing and related processes in both steel and aluminum.
steel making, containers manufacturing industry, metal-packed food industry, oil filters manufacturing and other steel/aluminum involved containers/parts manufacturing industries.
Required Education
Bs Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
Experience:
5-10 years of on site Quality Control/Steel Mill Experience
Hands-on Production experience
Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed (25-50%)
Client/Customer interaction and support
Ability to speak Spanish is a large plus to have
