POSITION OVERVIEW 

Improving the quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education, by examining each person and then developing a treatment plan to improve their ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION 

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition 
  • Established a plan of care which is appropriate to problems in identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires 
  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment settings. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs. 
  • Supervises and delegates the care provided by physical therapy assistants according to established licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards. 
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.   

SALARY & BENEFITS:

$60,000 - $100,000 per year

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • 1+ years of experience preferred 
  • Physical Therapy License required by the state 
  • Graduated from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required 
  • BLS 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Frequent standing, typing, moussing, and reading paper and electronic documents 
  • Ability to file and track documents and data, both in written and electronic form 
  • Hours of business are Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
  • On occasion, some early, late and overtime hours may be required
