JOB SUMMARY:

The staff physical therapist assistant (P.T.A.) is responsible for the implementation of a corrective treatment plan designed by a licensed physical therapist according to the principles and practice of physical therapy. This includes continuous assessment of the patient’s progress in conjunction with the licensed physical therapist, collaborative consultation with other health care professionals and maintenance of accurate and timely medical and business records. Participation in departmental quality improvement activities, community outreach and program development are also required.

DEPT. SCOPE OF SERVICE:

The Physical Therapy department in Rehabilitation Services provides timely and accurate assessments and treatment programs to meet the needs of inpatient and outpatient clientele as ordered by the medical staff and/or as defined in departmental policies. This service is provided for all patient populations including children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Care is defined according to the professional standards of the American Physical Therapy Association.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

• Graduate of accredited Associates program in Physical Therapy.

Experience: 

• Previous experience in acute care preferred, but entry level is acceptable.

Licensure/Certification: 

• State of Vermont license required, temporary license acceptable on entry.
• CPR certified.

Compensation Disclosure in Accordance with Vermont Act 155

In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
