Physical Therapist Extended School Year - Baltimore City, MD - Rapid Progression

Are you a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students from kindergarten to 12th grade during the Extended School Year (ESY) program? We are currently seeking Physical Therapists to join our team for a 5-week program in Baltimore City, MD. This position offers part-time and full-time openings for professionals committed to supporting students' physical development during the summer months.

Position: Physical Therapist for Extended School Year (ESY) Program

Location: Baltimore City, MD

Program Dates:

• ESY Program Dates: July 1st August 1st
• Professional Development: June 24th (training) and June 27th (school-based)
• ESY Sessions: In-person, Monday to Thursday (4 days per week)

Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy services to students in grades K-12 during the ESY program.
• Assess students' motor skills, strength, and mobility to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to address students' physical needs and promote functional independence.
• Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, administrators, and other therapists, to support students' academic and social-emotional goals.
• Document student progress, attendance, and therapy sessions in accordance with school and state requirements.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding students' progress and recommendations for home-based activities and exercises.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Maryland state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Previous experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school or clinical setting.
• Strong assessment and intervention skills, with knowledge of evidence-based practices in pediatric physical therapy.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet the diverse needs of students across different grade levels.

Schedule: Part-time or Full-time (Monday to Thursday during ESY program)
