Physical Therapist (PT) – LTC/SNF - Travel Position

Pay: $2,515/week

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to join a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Oxford, MS, on a travel contract. The PT will assess, plan, and implement therapy programs designed to restore mobility, reduce pain, and promote independence for residents. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, detail-oriented, and experienced in working with geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine rehabilitation needs and functional goals.


• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and care teams.


• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.


• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy programs, safe mobility, and use of adaptive equipment.


• Accurately document evaluations, progress, and treatment outcomes per facility and regulatory standards.


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure coordinated and effective care.


• Promote patient independence, safety, and quality of life through evidence-based therapy practices.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.


• Current and valid Physical Therapist license in Mississippi (or compact license).


• Minimum of 1 year of PT experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


• COVID vaccine and recent TB test.


• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical assessment skills.


• Compassionate approach with experience supporting geriatric patients.
