Full-time

Description

The Orthopedic Partners is a practice with many specialties but a single dedication:

To preserve the orthopedic health of each of our patients to the fullest extent possible.

We are committed to using only the most effective, approved methods for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of orthopedic conditions. When orthopedic disease or injury occurs, we employ cutting-edge surgical and non-surgical techniques alongside compassionate patient care to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Our practice is built on a foundation of continuous learning and dedication to the well-being of our patients. We believe in the importance of understanding the orthopedic condition fully, and our team takes the time to explain every aspect of the diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery process.

We are currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join our team.  The successful candidate will be eligible to receive a SIGNING BONUS in addition to our competitive salary and benefits package.

The Physical Therapist (PT) assists patients in their recovery from injuries, illnesses, and disabilities to restore and improve their movement, function, and independence through personalized treatment plans. Key responsibilities include assessing and diagnosing patients' physical conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans with exercises and manual therapy, educating patients and families, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and documenting progress.

Core duties and responsibilities

  • Patient evaluation and diagnosis: Reviewing a patient's medical history, referrals, and physical condition to diagnose movement dysfunction and other issues.
  • Treatment plan development: Creating an individualized care plan with specific goals based on the patient's condition, concerns, and desired outcomes.
  • Therapeutic interventions: Using a variety of hands-on and equipment-based techniques to relieve pain and improve mobility, including:
  • Exercises and stretching
  • Manual therapy (e.g., massage, joint mobilization)
  • Gait and balance training
  • Functional movement training (using equipment like crutches, canes, or walkers)
  • Modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation
  • Patient monitoring and education: Evaluating patient progress, modifying treatment plans as needed, and educating patients and their families on recovery, injury prevention, and wellness.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and timely patient records, including evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports.
  • Team collaboration: Consulting and coordinating with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications

Education and licensure

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree: A DPT from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) is required.
  • Licensure: Required state license to practice, which includes passing the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).

Physical and interpersonal skills

  • Dexterity and stamina: The job requires using one's hands for manual therapy and maintaining physical stamina to be on one's feet for long periods.
  • Compassion and patience: PTs must be empathetic and patient when working with patients who may be in pain or frustrated with their recovery.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills are needed to explain complex treatment plans clearly, build trust, and motivate patients.
  • Critical thinking: Problem-solving skills are essential for adapting treatment plans to meet the unique and changing needs of each patient.
  • Time management: PTs often treat multiple patients per day and must balance hands-on care with administrative tasks.
