Job Description - Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist - Outpatient Oncology Rehabilitation

Physical and/or Occupational Therapist

Oncology Rehab is looking for one or more full-time physical and occupational therapists to work in our outpatient  rehab facility. Training is provided through our oncology rehabilitation education platform, PORi, and mentorship is provided by our current PORi Certified Oncology Rehabilitation Therapists and Specialists.

About Oncology Rehab

We are an exciting, dynamic company with a passion for what we do. This job posting is for our San Antonio office, which partners with Methodist Hospital to provide rehab services at Methodist Cancer Care Rehabilitation Center. We are expanding and have an immediate opening for one or more full-time licensed physical or occupational therapists.

Education:

General Job Description:

Therapists at Oncology Rehab provide a wide variety of interventions including endurance, strength, and balance training, functional training, soft tissue mobilizations, and lymphatic drainage techniques for patients experiencing side effects of cancer and its treatment. Patients are primarily ambulatory and high-functioning. Interventions will be familiar to rehab therapists and applied in such a way that considers the physiological implications of the patient’s specific cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Over the course of the rehabilitation, therapists will evaluate, document progress, re-evaluate physical findings, and modify treatment strategies as appropriate. Oncology Rehab’s PTs and OTs work as a team with a variety of other professionals, including referring physicians, nurses, navigators, and speech pathologists - all with the same goal of reaching maximal patient functional independence.
