Physical Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and according to established treatment plans.
• Assist in implementing individualized physical therapy programs for people evaluated by the Physical Therapist.
• Follow and carry out treatment plans to support therapeutic goals and outcomes. 
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, caregivers, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Educate and train ancillary staff and caregivers on therapy techniques and program carryover.
• Support the integration of therapy programs into individuals' daily routines and activities.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation, billing records, and required insurance-related forms in a timely manner.
• Travel to community-based locations to provide therapy services as needed.
• Reports incidents, changes or concerns promptly to the Supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Clinic Services.
• Maintain professional licensure, comply with agency policies and regulatory requirements, and protect the confidentiality of individuals served.

• Licensed and currently registered as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the New York State Department of Education.
