Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner

We are looking to add a motivated NP/PA to our well established Urology practice. Piedmont HealthCare Urology is a comprehensive Urology practice with a special focus on Uro-Oncology. This position is 4 1/2 days per week with NO CALL and NO WEEKENDS. We offer competitive pay, sign-on bonus, full range of benefits as well as one on one training with the physician.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Patient treatment on both inpatient and outpatient basis
• Detailing effective treatment plans for patients under direct physician supervision
• Communicating with patients and/or staff regarding health matters via phone or patient portal

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assesses and treats patients in both the outpatient and inpatient setting under the direction of supervising physician.
2. Appropriate documentation into medical record.
3. Addressing and communicating directly with patients and/or staff in regards to patient phone calls/portal messages.
4. Maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program or approved nurse practitioner program.

EXPERIENCE:

Urology experience preferred, but not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Maintain valid PA license for the state of North Carolina, certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. CPR certification as required.

Or maintains valid RN license for state of North Carolina.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Knowledge of acute and chronic care protocols, administration of medications, delivering physical care following treatment plan.
2. Knowledge of how to assess patient health and measure.
3. Skill in accurately evaluating patient problems in person or via phone and providing appropriate advice, intervention or referral.
4. Skill in evaluating and revising care plan based on patient changes.
5. Ability to make responsible decision within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with all members of health care team.
