Job Description - Physician - Hospitalist

Medical Doctor - Hospitalist

Our company is looking for a Hospitalist to join our team to work with our esteemed clients.

Responsibilities:
• Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing, and administrative staff to maximize cost-effective use of clinical resources.
• Collaborates with Medical Director in scheduling.
• Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and families.
• Provides cross-coverage at the hospital and other departments as required.
• Supervises patient care delivered by house-staff, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and others as requested.
• May manage the care of patients in critical care units with Intensivist support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals and monitoring the effectiveness of all interventions.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to ensure the health and comfort of all patients.
• Provides prompt and clear communication about patients’ admission, condition changes and discharge to clinicians responsible for outpatient care.
• Implement measures to assist patients in regaining and sustaining physiologic endurance to include serving in the first assisting role.
• Collaborates with Emergency Department Clinical Staff to determine the most appropriate site of care for individual patients.
• Performs duties at the professional level of quality and efficiency established by Hospital.
• Functions autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex critical, chronically ill, and acute patients.
• Participates as a team member at patient care conferences.
• Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by hospital or clinical requirements.
• Prepares accurate and timely documentation of patient care to maximize the Hospital’s accurate billing and collection of services.

Requirements:
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice with strong interest and experience in hospital-based care.
• Cover code blue events, rapid response, and admissions.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification & ACLS Certification.
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to provide procedures including central lines, intubations.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Open ICU with critical care coverage during the day.
• Current, active, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. State or Territory.
• DEA Licensure.
• Unrestricted State of required service License required.
• Ability to be credentialed on all payors.
